Community Gardens to open!!
We are pleased to tell you that we will be able to use our community gardens this season. The Government has lifted restrictions on community gardens, but we do still need to practice social distancing.
There are 8 gardens that will be roped off, basically 3 in each of the longer gardens and 2 in the shorter garden that stands alone. All gardens are near the basketball court.
It is a first come first served request to have a spot in the garden. You can send your email request to Karla to: email@example.com
We were hoping to build two more gardens behind the unit 1 - 6 block but the COVID virus is putting that on hold for us. We did apply for funding for this but have yet to hear back.
If you do not get to use the community garden this year, you can also put a garden in your own back yard, but you must understand that you will be required to reseed the garden area and turn it back to grass when you move out or are done gardening. People are also gardening in plant pots.
When using the garden, please be sure to stay well away from other people. We want people to be safe as much as possible. It may be that you take turns tending to your garden.
Karla Oehring is leading this initiate this year. If you email her she can gather up a list of those who want to have a spot reserved for them. Please email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Happy planting everyone!.
